Gateshead gains flexibility by adding more x-ray capacity
Philips Healthcare account manager Paul Mason, superintendent cardiovascular radiographer Lorna Oliver, Philips IXR modality sales specialist Simon Wilsdon, sister Les Jones, cardiac physiologists Susan Simpson and Laura Jones, Philips field service engineer Rob Welsh and consultant cardiologist Dr Chris Scott.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, has invested in a second Philips Allura Clarity Xper FD20 system which will be sited in the existing cath lab.
Superintendent cardiovascular radiographer Lorna Oliver said: “The system is very flexible, covering vascular and cardiac applications, although we use it predominantly for cardiac procedures. We now have the ability to work across the two rooms in a way that we didn’t have before. Our efficiency has improved and we are also pleased with the low radiation doses we achieve.”
The Allura Clarity Xper FD20 offers a high level of automatic positioning movements and image quality to support complex interventional cardiac and cardiovascular procedures.
