GenesisCare unveils Elekta Evo linac at revamped Nottingham centre

Cancer care specialist GenesisCare’s Nottingham centre has reopened after a refurbishment that includes an Elekta Evo linac. The system provides precision radiotherapy treatment with advanced imaging and motion management, minimising the potential of damage to healthy tissue. It will be used for treating patients with many types of cancer, including brain, lung, breast and prostate, with work underway for the provision of adaptive radiotherapy treatment in the near future.
GenesisCare centre leader for Birmingham and Nottingham Susie McAllister said: “The centre and system upgrade are further evidence of our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality personalised care for our patients.”
UK and Europe CEO Justin Hely added: “As we continue to expand access to the most advanced cancer treatments, it is essential that patients receive world-class care close to home. The addition of this latest Elekta Evo linear accelerator in Nottingham demonstrates our commitment to delivering innovative therapies and improving outcomes for every person we serve.”
GenesisCare operates 14 cancer treatment centres throughout the UK, with another set to open in Leeds in 2026.
