Gloucester Royal Hospital adds capacity to its radiology department

News

Gloucester Royal Hospital has added capacity to its radiology department with the addition of a Toshiba Aquilion Prime 80-slice CT system.  The department already has two CT systems and this addition will enable the hospital to offer the latest technology.  Pictured are CT/MR lead radiographer David Reed, Toshiba Medical Systems account executive Megan Newberry, superintendent radiographer Sue Merrick, advanced practitioner CT Debby Booth, Toshiba senior applications specialist Mark Condron and deputy superintendent radiographer Alison Hannam.

Reed said: “We are delighted with the Aquilion Prime CT scanner; the image quality is superb with low radiation doses.  We are very impressed with Toshiba’s  SureSubtraction technologies, SEMAR metal artefact reduction and lateral couch movement.  We are currently redeveloping our cardiac services and improving cardiac CT image quality, while extending the range of patients that can be successfully imaged.  Support from Toshiba applications and service has been excellent.”
