Mount Vernon Hospital, Middlesex, has upgraded its ultrasound facilities with the acquisition of a Toshiba Aplio 500 scanner.  It was purchased to meet the expanding requirements of the department, with special attention towards vascular and obstetric scans.

Senior sonographer Narinder Virdee said: “We are all very impressed with the imaging quality, colour sensitivity and particularly like the vascular presets.  I have found my scanning time is shortened using the Aplio, saving on cost, time and strain injury.”

Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust already uses an Aplio 500 at its Hillingdon Hospital site and this influenced the trust’s decision to purchase a second machine for Mount Vernon.
