Hampshire invests in the future with CT addition

In the front row are Mayoress Julie Putty, Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Councillor Dan Putty, consultant radiologist Dr Hilary O’Neil, radiographer Rachel Moncrieff and CT superintendent Yvonne Sullivan.  Behind are Siemens Healthcare regional sales manager Paul Vaughan and managing director UK Peter Harrison with hospital divisional planning and performance lead Christine Saunders.

Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital has strengthened its CT imaging facilities with the installation of a Somatom Definition Flash CT system from Siemens Healthcare.  As well as improving departmental workflow and expanding services, it provides the potential to expand cardiac, neurological, oncological, trauma and paediatric CT imaging services in the future.

“We are investing for the future, to provide excellent care using leading edge technology,” said Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust deputy chief executive Donna Green. “The system will provide detailed routine and emergency images with greater speed and accuracy, allowing us to provide even better diagnosis for patients.  The system’s ease of use has been well received by the radiology team that also welcomes the dose protection offered.”
