Have BIR bursary… will travel

Philips key account manager imaging Ian Mitcham with Matthew White and Dr Rakesh Ganatra

The 2010 winner of the Nuclear Medicine Travel Bursary, funded by Philips Healthcare, is Matthew White, a medical student in his final year at the University of Nottingham.   The prize was presented by Dr Rakesh Ganatra, chairman of the nuclear medicine and molecular imaging committee at the British Institute of Radiology.

The bursary is intended to sponsor a visit to one or more centres abroad to learn a new technique not available at the applicant’s home institute or to attend a major conference where other funding would not be available.  The Travel Fellowship is aimed at people working in any of the disciplines within nuclear medicine including scientists, radiographers, technicians, radiopharmacists, radiologists working in nuclear medicine, and nuclear medicine physicians (specialist registrar or consultant grade).
