Assistant diagnostic imaging advisor
NHS Wales
Description
We are recruiting an assistant diagnostic imaging advisor to join the NHS Wales shared services partnership team (specialist estate services) to provide specialist advice and focused support for the planning and delivery of the all-Wales diagnostic equipment programme for medical device imaging equipment in conjunction with NHS Wales organisations and on behalf of Welsh Government (WG).
The role focuses on the procurement, delivery and installation of specialist equipment and associated services; the provision of support for the procurement of specialist clinical imaging and diagnostic equipment; and ensuring alignment with the national diagnostic clinical model and all associated technical standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience of diagnostic imaging equipment and service delivery and will be keen to develop their career and the contribution of their knowledge and experience by acquiring an understanding of procurement and installation and playing a key role in delivering optimum diagnostic imaging solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues.
You should also have the experience and ability to:
understand and use risk analysis and risk mitigations to determine and support installations of modern technology in estate that may have physical constraints;
liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders across various organisations at different and often senior levels, and especially clinicians;
understand the wider requirements of the remit and be able to secure specialist advice and support as necessary;
understand the healthcare context;
learn, develop, adapt and ‘own’ the role (and demonstrate experience from previous roles of building up more specialist knowledge at pace);
encourage collaborative working where there may be resistance to change.
We welcome inquiries from anyone interested and who would like to discuss how they feel their qualifications, skills, abilities and experiences match the role requirements. We are open to discussions about this post being a development opportunity and we would encourage anyone interested and who feels that they have some of the necessary skills, abilities, experiences and above all the aptitude for what is quite a niche role to get in touch with us. The successful postholder will be required to travel extensively across NHS Wales. We are equally happy to discuss the work base and flexibility arrangements needed to deliver this role across Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Base: Companies House, Cardiff (subject to discussion and agreement, as the role requires direct support to clinical teams across Wales. Flexible working is supported and encouraged, subject to core requirements).
