We are seeking enthusiastic specialist clinical technologist/radiographers to join multi-disciplinary teams providing nuclear medicine services across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
The successful candidates will participate in a range of specialist technical duties, providing direct patient care and ensuring a high-quality clinical service.
The nuclear medicine service operates across several sectors. These posts are based in the South, North-East and North-West sectors. Staff will be expected to work within a sector.
South Glasgow sector operates on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the Institute of Neurological Sciences, and the Victoria Hospital. North-East Sector operates on Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital and North-West Sector operates on the Gartnavel campus including the Beatson Oncology Centre.
Services on all sites include SPECT/CT scanning, non-imaging procedures and therapy. More specialist services include a dedicated neurospect scanning service (Institute of Neurological Sciences), DXA (Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary) and PETCT (West of Scotland PET Centre on the Gartnavel campus).
You will have an honours degree (or equivalent knowledge and experience) in a relevant subject with post qualification experience in nuclear medicine. Peer reviewed training in nuclear medicine (e.g., IPEM diploma in clinical technology (nuclear medicine), MSc/PGDip nuclear medicine or equivalent) is required. Applicants who have not yet achieved an IPEM diploma in clinical technology (nuclear medicine) nor demonstrated equivalence may be offered a contract at a lower grade (this may be for a short term) until equivalence has been shown. The competency level to be achieved is set out in the register of clinical technologists (RCT) scope of practice for nuclear medicine and would normally be demonstrated via a portfolio of evidence.
It is strongly encouraged that you make contact with the department, including a visit if it is appropriate to arrange this.
