We have an exciting opportunity for a general imaging superintendent to join our imaging team based at The London Clinic in central London, W1G 6BW.

With a clinical team of over 65 staff, the imaging department offers a full range of imaging services including CT, interventional radiology, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, breast imaging and molecular imaging.

Job profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced general imaging superintendent to join the team. The post holder will carry out a wide range of duties involved in the provision of all aspects of the service. This will require their work and management skills to meet high standards.

The general superintendent role has oversight of radiographers working through general x-ray, theatres and interventional radiology as well as being responsible for the delivery of ultrasound and neurophysiology services.

Key duties:

  • Leadership of the team of radiographers and overall management of the running of the general imaging department on a day to day basis ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Work closely with the consultants and radiologists to ensure scans are of the highest quality and in line with best practice.
  • Leading the team to ensure performance is in line with:
    • The philosophies of the clinic/department
    • The HCPC code of professional conduct
    • The Clinic policies and protocols
    • The Clinic’s strategy
  • Support imaging services manager in the provision and development of an efficient service and in the development of the department and the introduction of new services.

Skills and experience

  • Hold a DCR or BSc in Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC registered
  • Extensive post qualification experience.
  • Extensive team leadership/management experience including managing radiographers, radiologists and referring clinicians.
  • Experience of working in interventional radiology environment.
