Description

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, easily reached in just over 2 hours (flying time) from London, Bristol or Manchester airports.

The post is based at the St Bernard’s Hospital overlooking the straits of Gibraltar and Northern Africa. The area is perfect for those wishing to explore Southern Spain, Portugal and North Africa. English is the official main language with Spanish widely spoken.

The Gibraltar Health Authority invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Senior paediatric audiologist. Applicants must, by virtue of their citizenship or residence status, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar.

The post will entail the provision of full paediatric diagnostic audiological assessments, screening services and hearing aid management for primarily children and young people. The post-holder will need to have specialist knowledge over a range of procedures and practices in Paediatric audiology with appropriate practical experience in; VRA, play audiometry, OAE and immittance testing.

Applicants must be in possession of:

  • BSc healthcare science (audiology) or equivalent.
  • Professional registration must be HCPC, RCCP/AHCS and/or GMRB.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in paediatric audiology
  • Clinical experience in visual reinforcement audiometry
  • GMRB registration

In addition to the points mentioned above meet the essential criteria which is stated in the job person specification.

Return economy class air fares from the UK are payable in full. In addition, a rented accommodation allowance of £350 per month is available, solely whilst on a fixed term contract and upon submission of an official rental agreement.
