About the Role

As a sonographer, you will deliver safe, accurate, and timely ultrasound examinations across a wide range of general and non-obstetric modalities. This role is essential to continuing the trusted, high quality service SAH Diagnostics is known for. We’re not looking for someone to build a reputation, we’re looking for someone to uphold and advance the one we’ve already earned.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and independently report ultrasound scans, including:

o General abdominal (aorta, biliary tract, gallbladder, kidneys, liver, etc.)

o Gynaecology (transabdominal and transvaginal)

o Renal / bladder / prostate

o Scrotal / testicular

o Superficial soft tissue lumps (neck, axilla, groin)

o Musculoskeletal (MSK)

o Pelvic

o Chest

o Obstetrics

• Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, dignity, and confidentiality

• Produce accurate, timely scan reportsin line with internal protocols

• Communicate with patients and colleagues in a professional and compassionate manner

• Keep up-to-date with ultrasound techniques and clinical guidance

• Participate in clinical audits, CPD activities, and quality improvement

• Work closely with clinical leads and referring physicians

• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure efficient clinic operations

Qualifications & Skills

• Postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound (e.g., MSc or postgraduate diploma)

• HCPC registration or equivalent professional ultrasound credential

• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the UK

• At least 1 year of recent NHS experience (within the past 2 years)

• Proven competence in all the scan areas listed above

• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

• Strong organisational skills, professionalism, and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
