Kent’s mobile breast screening service re-equips

At the Maidstone handover of Philips equipment are assistant practitioner Michelle Allen, QA superintendent Kath Coombes, mammographer Jane Moore, Philips commercial manager women’s healthcare Neil Emery and mammography specialist Donna Webb.

Kent breast screening service has updated its screening provision with MicroDose FFDM systems and now uses this Philips technology across the region in all eight mobile breast screening trailers.

At Medway breast screening unit, radiographer Daphne Vandenheever said: “Staff feel less fatigued at the end of the day using the Philips equipment.”

Maidstone superintendent radiographer Ray Nuttall said: “We particularly like the fact that the keypad at the console enables automatic movement of the gantry; we also like the curved breast support and the fact that the workflow is simple and the equipment easy to keep clean.”
