St James’s University Hospital, part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, has acquired a Philips iU22 xMatrix ultrasound system with a wide range of transducers for radiology applications.

The installation was part of a larger purchase by the trust, which included two other Philips xMatrix systems for radiology and xMatrix iE33 and CX50 systems for cardiology for Leeds General Infirmary.

Sonographer and team leader Lis Ramsey said: “The Philips system was purchased for its high quality diagnostic images covering a broad spectrum of clinical applications.  Its ease of use and the advanced capabilities on the system, including xMatrix and 3D, together with excellent applications support from Philips, were all factors influencing our choice of equipment.”
