At Leicester General Hospital are Toshiba Medical Systems account executive Nichola Baron, applications specialist Heather Dring, senior radiographers Pepsi Magondo and Malany Kalicharan and radiology department assistants Colleen Griffiths, Jo Glover and Tom Walters.

Toshiba Medical Systems has supplied two CXL 128 CT scanners to University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as part of an MES agreement with Asteral.  One system is installed at Leicester General Hospital and the second at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Superintendent radiographer at Leicester Royal Infirmary Surjinder Kithoray said: “The technology has allowed us to reduce our patient doses and the unlimited applications will help with developing and improving our protocols.  In addition, a Vitrea Enterprise System thin client reporting solution has been installed across the hospitals to utilise the CT system to the full and ensure a comprehensive service provision and seamless workflow.

“We selected the Aquilion CXL because we already had two Toshiba 64-slice scanners in one of our hospitals and have been pleased with their performance.  We have always enjoyed prompt service from Toshiba and that is a very important factor for us.”
