Leighton Hospital’s chest specialists perform scans at the bedside

Leighton Hospital, part of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has used charity funds to purchase a Toshiba Viamo portable ultrasound system for the chest ward.  This will enable the chest specialists to scan patients at the bedside rather than sending them to the x-ray department.

The hospital opted for the Toshiba equipment because of its ease of use and portability.  It offers the advantages of a portable laptop with the advanced radiology features of a cart-based scanner, sharing its core imaging engine and transducer technology with Toshiba’s flagship Aplio series.
