Letterkenny scanning clinic receives 1.5T MRI

Affidea Ireland ceo Tom Finn, senior radiographer Dainelle McCauley, Minister for Health, Ireland Simon Harris TD and clinical lead and MRI clinical specialist Rachael Monaghan.
Independent imaging provider Affidea has purchased a Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI system for its medical scanning facility in Letterkenny, Ireland. The facility will serve the population of Donegal and surrounding areas, so that patients who want a private scan no longer need to drive to Sligo.
Clinical lead and MRI clinical specialist Rachael Monaghan said: “The Ingenia 1.5T scanner is a pleasure to work on. Due to the 70cm wide bore, array of specific coils and comfort of the ambient experience package, it makes the patient’s experience an enjoyable one. The dStream channel-dependent technology acquires images of exceptional quality that will easily evolve with any advances in MRI and not require any further channel upgrade.”
