Limited numbers mean that bowel ultrasound day is truly hands-on

Lecturers and delegates at the Toshiba bowel ultrasound clinics day.

Toshiba Medical Systems sponsored a one-day course entitled ‘Toshiba bowel ultrasound clinics’ organised by Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.  The course was designed for hands-on and live scanning and offered small group teaching of two to three delegates in an outpatient setting.  The number of attendees was restricted to six people.

Organisers had three ultrasound rooms in use, running outpatient scanning in tandem and offering the chance to demonstrate live scanning that reflected everyday practice.  Course leaders were consultant radiologist Dr Antony Higginson and radiologist, Crohns’s disease, Dr Richard Beable.
