Lister Hospital meets increased CT demand

Lister Hospital in Stevenage, part of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, has installed a Somatom Definition Flash and Definition AS+ from Siemens Healthcare with syngo.via imaging software for rapid multi-modality clinical image reporting.

The Definition AS+ is being used for a wide range of procedures including cardiac, angiography and brain angiography while both systems are being used for lung biopsies, renal work and stroke services.  The hospital has also installed an Artis zee floor-mounted system, suited to angiography and fluoroscopy examinations.

“With an increase in demand for CT services, we needed high end imaging systems that would effectively future-proof the department.  The latest installation completes the redevelopment and expansion of the CT service at the Lister Hospital,” said trust consultant radiologist Dr William Topping.
