Live ultrasound improves PCNL access at Leicester General

News

Consultant urological surgeon Mr Masood Khan, Hitachi Medical Systems regional sales manager Tom Dolton and clinical application specialist Annalisa Dunham.

Leicester General Hospital has installed a Hitachi Noblus ultrasound system which was voted system of choice for use in theatres during percutaneous nephrilotomy procedures by consultant urological surgeon Mr Masood Khan.

He said: “With remarkable imaging the Hitachi Noblus was an obvious choice for us.  Using the live ultrasound image has allowed us to reduce the risk in gaining access during the PCNL procedures.  The Noblus fits well into our busy theatre and with such a compact design, I am sure this would suit many theatres with limited space.  We look forward to using it further.”
