Low dose CT system destined for Gibraltar

Gibraltar Health Authority has signed a contract with Philips Healthcare for the supply of a state-of-the-art CT scanner to St Bernard’s Hospital.  The Ingenuity 128-slice machine replaces a ten-year-old, 16-slice scanner and enables the hospital to carry out brain perfusion, cardiac, virtual colonoscopy and dental scans.

Philips Healthcare UK and Ireland CT and oncology business manager Derek Tarrant said: “Phillips will be on a very tight schedule for installation as the contract if for turnkey project, including specialist infrastructure works and training for local staff.  It is hoped that the scanner will be up and running in July.
