Maltese PETCT installation first for Envirotect

Pictured at St James’ Hospital, Sliema, Malta, are Envirotect Limited md Niven Smith, St James’ nuclear medicine doctor Marc Anthony Aquilina and John Sammut of Charles de Giorgio.

Mr Smith was attending the opening ceremony of the first PETCT scanner to be installed at the hospital. Envirotect, a specialist radiation shielding company based in Bedfordshire, completed the project for Maltese contractor Charles de Giorgio.

The complex task of shielding the suite was further complicated by working overseas with different working practices, regulations and local material availability.
