Manchester Royal Infirmary upgrades to DR

Manchester Royal Infirmary is now able to use its existing CR rooms for DR, since the installation of an FDR D-Evo G35i flat panel detector from Fujifilm.
Emergency and outpatient departments principal radiographer Jon Kitching said: “The Fujifilm D-Evo system makes it possible to use our existing CR rooms as DR rooms. This was important for us as, in common with many other hospitals, we have found that installing a new room can be a long and expensive process.
The system gives us all the benefits of DR such as lower doses and better image quality, but at a fraction of the cost of a new DR room. We have found that using the Fujifilm system allows us to work quickly, with increased patient throughput. Also, we have a large number of staff, so we needed a system that was easy to use and train staff on, and the Fujifilm system certainly meets this requirement.”
