Mater adds immobilisation devices to complement linac

Mater Private Hospital, Dublin, has upgraded its head and neck immobilisation system to complement a new Varian TrueBeam installation.
The hospital chose the Portrait head and neck immobilisation system from Oncology Imaging Systems and radiotherapy services manager Noel Hughes said: “One of our five core values at the Mater Private Hospital is excellence. When we installed the TrueBeam radiotherapy linac to bring leading edge radiotherapy technology to the Irish community we needed a head and neck device which provided superior immobilisation and enabled us to provide 360° VMAT treatments whilst minimising attenuation.”
