Educate by Medica recently hosted Sharper Teams, Safer Practice, an interactive online session designed to equip radiography professionals with practical strategies to strengthen team dynamics and embed a robust safety culture.

The session brought together 10 radiographers for a hands-on learning experience featuring real-world scenarios, collaborative exercises and applied strategies to enhance team collaboration and resilience; reduce errors and improve patient safety; and boost communication for high performing teams.

A highlight of the course was completing the Service Animals behavioural profile, a tool for understanding communication styles and adapting techniques to build stronger relationships and improve team dynamics.

The course was delivered by MR specialist and senior lecturer Dr Darren Hudson and patient safety consultant and human factors specialist Naomi Burden. Both brought expertise in human factors, safety and effective teamwork, ensuring delegates left with actionable insights to apply immediately to practice.

Medica says that delegates gained a clear understanding of human factors in radiography; renewed confidence in effective communication; and techniques to embed safety culture and teamwork into practice. One delegate said: “It increased my understanding of different communication archetypes and how best to work as a team to achieve safe, effective service delivery.”
