Mobile platform is a first for PETCT system

Smit BV president Gerben Smit, Alliance Medical Radiopharmacy general manager north Ron Barrack, GE Healthcare director of strategic accounts Colin McConnell and Alliance Medical md, molecular imaging, Howard Marsh.
Alliance Medical has upgraded its UK mobile scanner fleet with a GE Discovery 710 PETCT scanner, which it says is the first time this machine will operate on a mobile platform. The trailer that will transport the scanner has been designed to accommodate two uptake rooms instead of the usual one, a modification that will increase the number of patients who can be scanned in a day.
Alliance Medical md, molecular imaging, Howard Marsh said: “We are pleased to unveil the world’s first mobile installation of this high performing scanner. This recent investment shows our focus on improving the cancer pathway by providing convenient and accessible services to patients.”
