Consultant MSK radiologist is awarded travelling professorship

Royal Orthopaedic Hospital consultant musculoskeletal radiologist Dr Rajesh Botchu has been awarded the RCR/BSSR Travelling Professorship for 2025.
This is awarded to one person each year and will see Dr Botchu travel to different centres across the UK sharing his knowledge and experience in musculoskeletal radiology.
Dr Botchu has worked at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham for 11 years and has a strong research focus; he has published 375 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is editor of three textbooks. He works extensively within oncology to further radiological practices in identifying and treating sarcomas and is a contributor to MSKRadiology4U, an educational website to support ongoing learning in radiology best practice.
His aim for the travelling professorship award from The Royal College of Radiologists and the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists is to share his experience and raise the profile of musculoskeletal radiology through a series of lectures, and to inspire the next generation of radiologists in research and interventional radiology.
Dr Botchu commented: “To be awarded this travelling professorship and be recognised for my work over the years is an honour. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with radiologists across the UK and highlight the advancements in interventional radiology that contribute to improved patient outcomes.”
