MP visits Source LDPath to explore genomics and histopathology services

AXREM facilitated a visit by Lilian Greenwood, MP for Nottingham South and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Transport, to AXREM member Source LDPath at its Nottingham headquarters. The MP took the opportunity to gain insight into the work undertaken by Source LDPath, whose laboratory services support both NHS and private hospitals across the UK. Its knowledge in genomics and histopathology helps accelerate diagnostic pathways to improve patient outcomes and strengthen national diagnostic capacity.
During the tour of the laboratories, Greenwood met with senior members of the team and observed the technologies and processes that underpin their service delivery. Discussions focused on the organisation’s contribution to modernising diagnostic services, supporting workforce pressures and enabling faster, more accurate reporting for clinicians and patients.
AXREM CEO Sally Edgington welcomed Lilian Greenwood and introduced the trade association’s mission. She said: “We were delighted to facilitate this visit and showcase the exceptional work of Source LDPath. Engagement with policymakers is essential to ensuring that industry expertise informs national priorities and supports the future resilience of diagnostic services.”
Source LDPath senior business development manager Daniel Plews added: “We are proud to demonstrate how our laboratory services contribute to improving patient care and supporting the NHS at a time of increasing demand. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the innovations and challenges shaping the future of diagnostics.”
