MRI safety day will bring professionals together to share practical solutions
MRI Safety Matters is set to host its hybrid MRI Safety Update and Innovations Day on October 31 at the Royal College of Physicians of London.
The event will bring together MRI radiographers, radiologists, physicists and industry partners for a day of expert insight, practical learning and discussion. The programme will explore a wide range of topics, including the evolution of MRI coils, standardising MRI safety signage, active implant scanning, updates to the MHRA MRI safety guidance, contrast-enhanced MRI, MRI simulation, emergency alarm systems and learning from fire situations.
Speakers announced so far include Professor Martin Graves, Dr Cormac McGrath, David Grainger, Mayhul Patel, Erik Jacobsson, Shari Railton and Barbara Nugent, who is hosting the event. Nugent, author of The MRI Practitioner’s Handbook: Essential Safety and Scanning Information, said: “MRI safety continues to evolve and events like this are so important in bringing professionals together to share learning, discuss challenges and explore practical solutions. The aim is to give attendees knowledge they can take back into their departments and apply with confidence.”
Delegates can attend in person or online. Lectures will be made available for up to a year a er the event. All attendees are eligible to receive 40 hours’ access to Corsmed’s MRI Simulator app for up to a year, and a CPD certificate with the learning outcomes endorsed by The College of Radiographers.
