Musgrove Park Hospital upgrades to another Philips C-arm system

Superintendent radiographer Catherine Monaghan, account manager south-west and south Wales Claire Whetton and interventional product specialist mobile surgery Simon Bunce, senior radiographer Rosie James and Althea technologist Kate Elsby.

Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, has replaced a Philips BV Endura image intensifier with a Pulsera C-arm system.  Procured for the hospital via its Althea managed service the new equipment can be supplied with either a 9″ or 12″ monitor, and Musgrove Park selected the 12″ version.

Lead for interventional radiology Kathryn Lewis said: ““We have used the BV Pulsera for EVAR cases in the theatre and we audited the doses and found them comparable to doses from our main interventional suite.  It is more manoeuvrable and has a larger field-of-view than previous intensifiers we have used for this purpose.”
