Lara Barron has been appointed as Davies Veterinary Services head of cardiology. She brings her knowledge and expertise to enhance the capabilities of the practice’s cardiology services.
Barron received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, USA, in 2006, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University and completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. After moving to the UK, she joined the cardiology service at the Royal Veterinary College in support of the cardiothoracic bypass programme.
Barron said: “The collaborative nature of the hospital allows us to offer advanced cardiac interventional procedures and first-class patient care. Together with the dedication of the veterinary and nursing team, this will help us to transform the lives of many patients needing specialist cardiology treatment.”
Based in Hertfordshire, Davies has upgraded its diagnostic capabilities with a Siemens Healthineers Magnetom Sempra MRI system and a Somatom go.All CT system. The practice has been extended to accommodate the new equipment, which is now adjacent to a viewing room that provides multiple workstations for efficient image review and reporting.
