Next Symposium Mammographicum event to explore the importance of empowerment for effective change

Symposium Mammographicum will be hosting its next biennial conference at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on July 7-9, 2027.
The organising committee chaired by Dr Nisha Sharma met before Christmas and considered feedback from the last event in Bournemouth and the theme of empowerment: Together We Can Make A Difference was developed. The 2027 symposium will explore how empowerment at every level enables meaningful, lasting change for staff, patients and communities. Among the key themes making up the programme are: working together for positive change; how empowered teams improve patient safety, enhance quality of care and deliver better outcomes; and promoting autonomy, trust and a professional voice to reduce burnout, increase motivation and support staff wellbeing. Also discussed will be the ways an inclusive culture including staff networks, open dialogue and psychological safety can ensure every voice is heard and valued, and how tackling inequalities with targeted training and support can equip staff to recognise and address health disparities.
Announcements will be made as the programme develops.
