Northampton centre kick-starts move to static service

Unit manager Rui Melo, PETCT clinical services director Mary McKee, Northampton General Hospital consultant radiologist and ARSAC license holder Dr Neil Fairlie, Alliance Medical UK director Philip Webster, hospital consultant radiologist Dr Ki Yap, Alliance Medical regional managing director north Mark Chapman and regional managing director – south Russell Trenter.
Northampton PETCT Centre is the first of 16 projects that form part of Alliance Medical’s transition from a mobile to static PETCT service. Alliance Medical has been working closely with the trust and medical community to improve service quality and patient access to PETCT services and reduce turnaround times.
The Northampton PETCT Centre has a 128-slice GE Discovery PETCT 710 that uses new scintillation crystal technology, allowing time-of-flight PET imaging to improve lesion detection in smaller nodules due to Q.Clear technology. Other benefits are reduced patient radiation dose and scan times for longer imaging procedures.
