Northampton Hospital NHS Trust chooses GE Healthcare

Pictured following the recent handover are superintendent radiographer ultrasound Sam Frater, GE Healthcare general imaging ultrasound manager Neil Bates, consultant radiologist Dr Sanjeev Shakhapur and advanced practitioner radiographers ultrasound Lucy Foster, Natalie Williams, Kimberley Vidad and Susan Wilde.
Northampton Hospital NHS Trust recently acquired seven GE Healthcare ultrasound systems to provide a full refresh of radiology and antenatal scan rooms. The order included two Logiq E9 XDclear systems for radiology ultrasound and two Logiq S8 systems featuring GE’s wireless connectivity package and battery back-up option for interventional and portable exams (radiology). They also purchased three Voluson E6 units for antenatal ultrasound scanning.
Frater said: “One of the factors that made these machines preferable to others was the ergonomic design. The manoeuvrability of the whole unit, the console and the monitor, as well as the console layout, just makes the tasks required during examinations slightly easier for the sonographers and radiologists.”
