Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has revamped its mammography strategy with Siemens Healthcare’s syngo MammoReport workstations linking directly with the Local Service Provider’s PACS system.
The upgrade has been completed ahead of the 2012 national screening age range extension. It integrates five Mammomat Inspiration full field digital mammography systems into the RIS, PACS and National Breast Screening Service (NBSS) programme.
“We decided to go off piste’ with the workstations, which has integrated beautifully at desktop level with both CRIS and NBSS; images are sent to an image server at the Mermaid Centre before being pushed onto the PACS store and the MammoReport workstations, where the images are cached for rapid image review and reporting,” said consultant radiologist Dr Nick Hollings.
