Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading welcomed double Olympic silver medallist and Leander Club captain rower Debbie Flood to cut the ribbon on its new CT scanning suite.

The hospital purchased a Toshiba Aquilion CXL scanner and operations manager Jane O’Sullivan said: “Toshiba and its appointed building contractors were a pleasure to work with.”

It was fitting that Debbie Flood, who won her medals at the Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008) was on hand to cut the ribbon as the hospital recently became the sole providers of healthcare to Leander Club’s elite training academy.  This venture is expected to support up-and-coming rowing athletes and potential Olympians, hoping to compete at the very highest level.
