Open MRI for the Ridgeway

Lead radiographer Kerry Bramley, Hitachi applications manager Renata Krawczyk, Duncan Spencer and MRI assistant Jacqueline Bartle.

The new Hitachi Elite Open MRI scanner at MedTel’s Ridgeway Hospital Open MRI Centre in Swindon is proving to be a great success, with positive feedback from patients.

Its airy open design and a weight capacity of 500lbs is ideal for patients who are unable to be scanned in a conventional tunnel-style MRI either due to size or claustrophobia. Noise reduction technology also ensures a quieter, more pleasant experience.

The Airis Elite continues the tradition of Hitachi’s leadership in advanced Open MR technology, providing clinical capabilities that rival those of many high field closed type systems.
