PACS/RIS are useful learning tools at UWE

The University of the West of England (UWE) has been using a Pukka-j image management system consisting of PACS and Image Viewer, and earlier this year its department of allied health professions commissioned Pukka-j to migrate the system to the university’s virtual environment.

As a collaborative working exercise, Pukka-j upgraded the system to include its radiology information and case management system, which will enable students to be trained and become familiar with radiology software systems as used in the healthcare sector.

UWE simulation lead, allied health professionals, Rob Stewart said: “We chose to stay with Pukka-j for two key reasons: the level of support given and the amount of customisation and administration we are able to undertake ourselves with this product.”
