Papworth meets rapid rise in patient numbers

Senior radiographer Adam Barnes, specialist radiographer Beckie Hendle and Fujifilm sales specialist John Casson.
Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has installed a state-of-the-art imaging system from Fujifilm. As the largest specialist cardiothoracic hospital in the UK it includes the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre.
Two Fujifilm FDR D-Evo viewing systems and wireless FDR Go Flex unit with FDR D-Evo C35i flat panel detector and laptop were specifically selected to enable an upgrade from a CR mobile system to a DR compatible system.
Radiology manager Carolyn Dyer said: “In the last couple of years we have experienced a rapid expansion in the number of patients we see in the critical care environment. To accommodate that increase and ensure continued high quality imaging, with digital technology, we have taken delivery of Fujifilm’s Go Flex system.”
