Patient throughput increases at Letterkenny General Hospital

Staff at Letterkenny General Hospital in Donegal have seen an increase in patient throughput recently.  Pictured are Bracco account manager Noel Lynott, radiology services manager Ray Birrell, CT radiographers Susan McAlinden, Martina McDaid, Judy Patterson and Suzanne Robinson and radiology assistant Goretti Marley.

Birrell said: “Since moving from a conventional syringe pump to the syringe-less CT Exprès from Bracco, our patient throughput has increased.  Our CT department is a very busy place and we find it to be a very efficient and reliable system.  We no longer have any contrast media wastage and we can now tailor our injections to each individual patient.

“Every patient receives a saline flush, thus reducing the risk of kidney complications as well as improving image enhancement.  The service and back up we receive from Bracco is exceptional which is vital in a major centre such as ours.”
