Patients appreciate security of Simple Up Platform at Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre

Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital’s Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre has received another Simple Up platform from Rothband (WSR Medical Solutions). The robust but easy-to-use platform allows users to raise the patient safely to the best height for weight-bearing x-rays of lower limbs. From a low step-up position the platform can be raised to 84cm and has a maximum weight limit of 200kg.
The platform can be used for chest x-rays as an electrically height adjustable ‘chair’ in front of the chest stand. It can be moved around the room on wheels, which automatically retract once in position, making it secure on the floor. The compact, ergonomically designed platform enables staff to adopt a more comfortable posture and not bend down continuously, Rothband says.
X-ray superintendent/lead reporting radiographer Suzanne McLaughlan confirmed that staff are enjoying using the Simple Up and that it is helping to improve workflow within the orthopaedic clinic setting. Patients have said how much better it feels not having to worry about climbing a number of steps to get into the correct position for their x-rays, while the handles make them feel more stable
