Pennine Breast Service orders three mammography chairs from Rothband

Pictured following the delivery of a Mammography 2021 chair from Vela Medical to the Pennine Breast Service at St Luke’s Hospital, Bradford, are senior assistant practitioner Allison Helm, breast service manager Simon Peers and Rothband territory sales manager Tori Jones. The service has ordered three chairs with two going to the mobile units to assist with disabled clinics.

Rothband has become a Vela Medical partner and the chair is the latest addition to its range. The chair is designed to give optimal positioning so that patients are in the right position before and during scanning. This is especially important for patients who have problems with mobility where it makes the examination faster and more certain, maintaining a positive workflow. Vela chairs are built to meet the exacting hygiene needs of the clinical environment.

Peers said: “The new chair will allow us to safely complete mammogram examinations of all clients with limited mobility. With musculoskeletal issues being very common in the workforce, the easy motorised movement of the chair will ergonomically protect staff and ensure they work while maintaining correct posture.”

Vela export country manager Kasper Roberts Jensen commented: “Vela was established in Denmark in 1935 with the emphasis on quality and innovation and we are very pleased to be working with Rothband in the UK as it shares our commitment to deliver quality products and services to healthcare providers.”
