Peterborough’s hockey stick probe is ideal

At the handover of two GE Healthcare Logiq S8 ultrasound systems to the breast unit at Peterborough City Hospital are consultant radiologist Dr Amr Hamid, consultant radiographer Jane Harris, imaging assistant Geraldine Ward, GE Healthcare applications specialist Sandra Twardun and sales specialist Jody Welton.
The Logiq S8 systems, part of the Signature series of ultrasound equipment, were acquired to provide breast imaging services. Harris said: “The installation was efficient and equipment application training provided to a high standard. In use we have found the image quality is excellent across all three probes supplied, giving a range of application across the vast majority of breast sizes and lesion positions within the breast.”
She added: “Of special mention is the high resolution, small footplate hockey stick probe, which has been found to give excellent resolution for very superficial scanning and is particularly useful for imaging the axilla and retroareolar regions, while offering excellent visualisation of needles for interventional work.”
