Plastic surgeons gain flexibility with mini C-arm

Pictured at Salisbury District Hospital during training on a Hologic Fluoroscan mini C-arm x-ray system supplied by Vertec Scientific are senior house officer John Kiely, sisters Bernie Hope and Caroline Day, consultants Miss Rebecca Exton and Mr Mansoor Khan, senior operating department practitioner Verena Gallagher and Vertec applications specialist Sue Barlow.

As part of the supply package Vertec include a full training course, recognised by the College of Radiographers, that educates to the level demanded by IR(ME)R.  This means that there is no delay waiting for other staff when creating a list of procedures.

Theatre and day surgery manager Gary Dawson said: “The Fluoroscan systems offer great flexibility to our plastic surgeons and has allowed us to meet the surgical needs of our patients in a timely and efficient manner.”
