Portable detector will benefit bedbound patients

Senior radiographer Aoife Coleman, radiographers Gianna Viagas and Eddy Sugrue, deputy superintendent radiographer Steve Barry and Philips Healthcare imaging account manager Paul Ringwald.
John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, has replaced aged x-ray equipment with a Philips DigitalDiagnost High Performance system. As a busy acute hospital, major trauma and tertiary referral centre with a high volume of inpatients and ED patients needing imaging, the requirement was for a high performance system to cope with the demand on the hospital’s radiology service.
Deputy superintendent radiographer Steve Barry said: “The room was due for replacement and having received positive feedback from users of other Philips radiography equipment at the John Radcliffe in 2011, we opted for the DigitalDiagnost. We find the equipment easy to use and are obtaining excellent image quality. In addition, with the wireless portable detector we anticipate improved imaging for our bedbound and less ambulant patients.”
