Delegates at Bowel Ultrasound Masterclass, Portsmouth.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust recently hosted the first Bowel Ultrasound Masterclass run in collaboration with Toshiba Medical Systems.  The faculty consisted of trust consultant GI radiologist Dr Antony Higginson and consultant GI radiologist Dr Richard Beable, Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust consultant histopathologist Dr David Cowlishaw, University Hospital Southampton consultant paediatric radiologist Dr Mark Griffiths, University Hospitals of Morecombe Bay NHS Foundation Trust consultant radiologist Dr Nigel Grunshaw and University College London Hospitals consultant radiologist Dr Gauraang Bhatnagar. The day was supported by an enthusiastic team of radiology assistants.

Portsmouth is an ideal training centre as there is an established bowel ultrasound service with up to 1,000 examinations performed each year for a wide range of indications.  Toshiba Medical Systems regional ultrasound manager Tim Palarm said: “This course is an excellent addition to Toshiba’s portfolio of high quality clinical courses that are delivered by leading UK clinicians at the top of their game.”
