Toshiba Medical Systems has completed the installation of 15 ultrasound systems across Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. The trust was looking to replace systems across several departments and, following the tender process, Toshiba successfully gained the order. The equipment supplied included Toshiba’s Aplio range and a Viamo portable ultrasound scanner.
Superintendent sonographer Catherine Leckie said: “Toshiba was chosen due to the excellent image resolution, ease of use and of the flexibility of being able to use the same system across different departments to aid familiarity and allow for transducer interchangeability. Alongside the fantastic 2D ultrasound images, the trust has benefited from Toshiba’s innovative software, with such cutting-edge technology as fusion, CEUS, elastography and 3D/4D.”
