Prince Charles Hospital makes the switch to a flat panel detector

Lead cardiac nurse Mandie Willmott, cardiac nurse Maria Marchant, radiographer Nicholas Yule, cardiac nurse Larissa Davies and Rebecca Smith and Xograph Healthcare territory manager Liam Neill.

The cardiology department at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, is now using the Ziehm Vision RFD 2020 flat panel detector mobile C-arm fluoroscopy system.  It was supplied by independent medical imaging company Xograph Healthcare and will provide image guidance during bi-ventricular pacings and other similar cardiac pacing procedures.

Marketing director Neil Staff described the sale as part of a definite and fast growing trend for flat panel mobile C-arms in 2014.  He added: “Customers have come to expect that all new fixed fluoroscopy systems purchased will include a flat panel image receptor rather than the now almost outmoded image intensifier. They appreciate that the much enhanced imaging capability of these latest systems is hugely beneficial to clinicians, in areas as critical as the operating theatre and hybrid theatre, where the very best image guidance can make the difference for a successful outcome.”
