Providence Surgery brings MRI to more than 3,500 patients with O-scan

Providence Surgery in Bournemouth has had an Esaote O-scan dedicated MRI system for more than seven years and has used it to scan over 3,500 patients.
The system brings extremity MRI into the clinical setting without the associated costs of a full standard installation since it needs only mains electricity and takes up less than nine square metres.
GP Dr Mufeed Ni’man said: “We have used the Esoate O-scan for over seven years; it is installed in a modular building that is ideal for isolation and infection control. Patients love the machine as they can relax and not worry about anything else around them. It has proved to be great for those who are claustrophobic; it’s actually been compared to ‘sunbathing’ by one of our patients.
“The images it produces are as good as the bigger machines around. We use it for our NHS and private patients, including high performing athletes such as footballers.”
