QE Gateshead adds ultrasound platforms
Lead consultant radiologist Dr Jane Potterton, radiographers Catherine Consterdine and Gillian Tulip, consultant radiologist Dr Sheetal Sharma, radiographer Jackie Westgarth, consultant radiologists Dr Alan Redman and Dr Simon Lowes, department deputy lead Barbara Welsh and Toshiba Medical Systems clinical specialist, ultrasound, Tracey Bellas.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead has purchased two Toshiba Aplio 500 ultrasound systems with Contrast Harmonic Imaging, shear wave, elastography, SMI (superb micro-vascular imaging) and 4D. Both scanners are dedicated breast systems and replaced exising equipment in a rapidly expanding service covering Gateshead, Sunderland and Durham.
