Range of probe adapters to include Cephasonics ultrasound platform

BBS Medical AB, Sweden, is to develop and market specialised ultrasound probe and transducer adapters that will allow users of Cephasonics systems to connect a variety of different probes from other manufacturers to the system. As part of the relationship BBS Medical will develop and market the adapters directly as well as through Cephasonics.

BBS Medical AB and ProbeHunter Sweden ceo Björn Segall explained: “We are proud to announce that one of the leading programmable platforms within ultrasound research, Cephasonics, has entered into a cooperation with us as a developer of adapters to its system. This collaboration enables all universities and OEMs to quickly get support with adapters for their ultrasound research and development platforms.”

“Five years ago we released the real-time test system ProbeHunter, to verify the performance of all brands of ultrasound probes. Today there are approximately 50 different adapters to test leading brands including GE, Philips, Siemens, Samsung and Canon.”

The new adapters to Cephasonics will support probes initially from Ultrasonix and, over time, a growing number of probes from other major ultrasound companies.
